September apple iphone 5 launch to include 6-10m iPhones to Apple’s Q4 results
Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster believes that the September launch from the apple iphone 5 could add six to ten million iPhone sales to Apple’s Q4.
Apple is anticipated to unveil its sixth-generation iPhone (dubbed apple iphone 5) in a special 12 September event, and can begin shipping on 21 September. The timing from the launch could save Apple in the disappointing 4th fiscal quarter of 2012 that Wall Street is expecting, because all iPhone sales composed until 29 September will count towards Apple’s Q4 revenue.
Fortune reports that, on Wednesday, Munster authored inside a note to clients: “We think that a September launch could cause the ultimate ten days from the month generating 6-ten million apple iphone 5 unit sales, which may likely shift from December.”
“We believe if apple iphone 5 launches in September, Apple could sell 26-28 million units within the quarter (this considers iPhone sales slowing dramatically from September 12-20, that is announcement to availability),” Munster ongoing. “This would imply 8 percent upside towards the Street’s current $35 billion revenue and 12 percent upside to EPS of $8.46.”

Munster thinks that Apple will sell 27.19 million iPhones in quarter four, up in the Street’s estimation of 23 million. He is doing note, however, he may reduce his estimate of 49 million iPhone sales within the December quarter (fiscal Q1 2013).
“While predicting the timing from the iPhone release is topical fro investors, we still think that whether apple iphone 5 launches within the September or December quarter is basically irrelevant towards the overall story, which we feel would be that the new phone would be the largest electronic devices product upgrade ever,Inches Munster concludes.
Rumours claim that Apple may also launch an iPad small as well as an update to the ipod device touch in the September event.
