Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Promotional Pamphlets Introducing Forward Operating Base, New “Outer Ops” Version

Konami has begun releasing promotional pamphlets for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain in Japan, ahead of the game’s release fixed at September 1.Those pamphlets don’t include many info we don’t know yet, but something interesting has come up anyway: Forward Operating Base.

MGS V: The Phantom Pain

According to Reddit user “hecheff”, who translated all the contents in English, Forward Operating Base are something like the Outer Ops we have already appreciated in Hideo Kojima’s series:

“Obtain people and resources in the field to expand your Mother Base. Expanding Mother Base allows all sorts of new weapons and items to be developed; starting with the ones found during missions, along with all sorts of support. You can also train soldiers and send them off into missions.

Additionally, you can intrude other players’ customizable Forward Operating Base (FOB).

An Open-World METAL GEAR SOLID, a great evolution

Realistic infiltration missions in an Open World

The massive field portrays a realistic passage of time and weather, allowing you to freely form missing strategies to pull off. You can also call on your buddies for support during missions. Capture soldiers, animals, vehicles, weapons, containers, etc. and clear missions to expand your Mother Base.

A Massive Field 200-times larger than MGSV:GZ”

The meaning of Forward Operating Base would be allowing gamers to invade not the entire others’ Mother Bases but just an area dedicated to PVP purposes. That would prevent you from wasting another solo gamer’s effort to create something pretty with his Mother Base.

What do you think of this concept? Would you be interested in it? Let us know in the comments section below.
