The Division dev team has made no bones about the fact that it does not like cheating in its game, even if it is players taking advantage of a glitch inadvertantly added to the game itself. And to show how serious they are, cheaters will now be banned on first offense.

In a post on the official site, the team said that when they did their largest wave of suspensions and bans last month, action was taken against more than 30,000 accounts, resulting in 3,800-plus permanent bans. However, the team found that players weren’t getting the message with a first-time offense suspension of 14 days.

Apparently, “ensuring a positive and fair environment free of noxious players willingly violating the rules” is something Massive will continue to diligently pursue. “We will take all steps necessary to track down cheaters and make sure they cannot spoil your enjoyment of the game.”

The team also continues to do bug squashing, with a recent patch being delayed as unsuccessful,
