Naughty Dog Explains Why Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection Lacks Multiplayer

Shortly after the announcement of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, Naughty Dog made it clear that it would only include single-player campaigns from Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.

Many fans have not understood the reasons behind this choice, even though the studio has said in the past weeks and months that it is due to the presence of the Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End multiplayer beta.

Now, community strategist Eric Monacelli has told to Mashable that Naughty Dog didn’t want to disrupt the amazing community which is still playing to the multiplayer modes on 2009’s Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

“Our communities are still really strong. Like Uncharted 3 … I get submissions every week from people still, which is a testament to how strong that community is. People are still playing Uncharted 2 [online], believe it or not. 2009 was when [that] came out. It’s a pretty old game but people love it.”

Are you fine with this decision on the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection? Sure, it will be helpful to try and complete those games again before Uncharted 4 releases, but it could have been much fun to play their multiplayer component in the wait. Let us know in the comments below.
