‘Creative market recovering’ – Apple

Talking to Macworld UK at MacExpo yesterday, Apple UK’s managing director, Mark Rogers, confirmed that Apple is starting to see a slight recovery in the creative markets. Punters on the show floor echoed his sentiment.

John Sullivan, who works in Advertising, said: “We are finding it harder to fill positions now; it seems like there are more jobs than people, which has to be a good indication that things are getting better. The market is definitely more buoyant. ”

Photographer Aletta Killin said: “There has definitely been some pick up in the photographic industry, but at the expense of conventional photography, which is declining rapidly.”

Peter Smith, a graphic designer employed by a TV company, said: “Advertising revenue has definitely gone up – and as a result, there’s a much more positive attitude in the TV industry.”

“However,” he added, “budgets remain low and the management still expect us to do twice as much work without the necessary resources, probably because over the last few years we have proven that we can. There is still the pressure to do more with less.”
