Apple extends WWDC 2004

Apple’s working hard to ensure its forthcoming Worldwide Developer’s Conference is a success, announcing new show elements to temp Mac developers to attend.

Apple’s developer relations chief Ron Okamoto has told Macworld developers should expect a “week to look at absolutely everything”.

The show will offer a Worldwide Developers Conference Exhibit Fair where developers will be able to showcase their products. Exhibitors here will also get to meet Apple’s worldwide developer relations senior management team during a VIP reception.

Apple is also offering attendees access to a series of five free pre-conference workshops on Sunday June 27, before the show officially opens on the Monday.

Expert Apple and third-party engineers will offer talks on a variety of topics, including the Unix Connection with OS X and Optimizing Mac OS X Code. Seating for these sessions is limited. Attendees must bring their own notebook Mac.

Other show highlights will include the Apple Design Awards ceremony on June 29, with an evening of informal Birds of a Feather community meetings, followed by Movie Night with pizza and popcorn on Wednesday. On Thursday, Apple will host its annual Apple Campus Bash, hosted by Apple’s hardware and software engineering teams in Cupertino.
