Dev: Final Fantasy XV Inspired Most By FF-III, FF-IV, FF-V and FF-VI, Games That Arrived On NES/SNES

Last week, Square Enix stunned the gaming community with the announcement that Final Fantasy XV demo code won’t be available with every pre-order copy of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD but instead it will be available only for first batch of shipment (Day One Shipment) of FF Type-0 HD. Today, Final Fantasy XV Director Hajime Tabata announced that Final Fantasy XV is inspired by previous game in the franchise that arrived on NES and SNES.

Final Fantasy XV

In a Square Enix conducted interview titled as “Who Is Hajime Tabata”, Tabata commented how he draw inspiration from FF III, IV, V and VI and I and VII are still his personal favorite.

“Previously I would have said FF-I and FF-VII were my favourite to play but while making Final Fantasy XV, some of the ones I’m referring to the most and the ones I’m drawing the most inspiration from and getting a lot out of are FF-III, FF-IV, FF-V and FF-VI.” said Tabata with a big grin on his face.

He further added: “The more I look at them, the more I think – wow!”

Hajime Tabata seems to be the right person to lead the development work on Final Fantasy XV, the game which has been in development for so long and at one time was said to be canned/canceled. Watch FFXV PS4 gameplay demo showcased at TGS 2014 below:
