End of Nations: Petroglyph lays off developers

Petroglyph sure is going through some rough times. We reported last week that the developers of the upcoming MMORTS End of Nations had decided to postpone the game indefinitely, citing that the game was in need of “polish and imporvement.”

Today, Eurogamer is reporting that they have on “good authority” that 30 developers have been laid off at the studio.

Eurogamer backs this claim up by citing a tweet from End of Nations Designer Adam Stevens who posted the following tweet “Well, it appears this Winter break will be extended indefinitely,” And then: “Lay-offs at Petroglyph. Looking like I’ll be Leaving Las Vegas.”

Even though the company is facing layoffs, Petroglyph insists End of Nations has not been cancelled. Myll Erik, one of the game’s community managers, posted a response on the End of Nation’s forums to ensure fans that the game was indeed still alive by stating “just wait and let us deliver a better game! End of Nations has not been cancelled!””

Looks like we will just have to wait and see if that remains true in the future.
